House rules

These rules are part of the agreement you accept when you create an account. They apply to everything you put on the platform: your profile, your photo, your shelf, the tastings you publish and the verdicts you write. What you publish is public — anyone with an account can read it — and there is no corner of this app where the rules are looser.

1. 17+ only

Ligero is rated 17+ and is meant for adults who are of legal smoking age where they live. By creating an account you confirm that you are. Accounts we find to belong to minors are deleted, not warned.

The app is a record-keeping tool for something people already do. It does not sell tobacco, does not link to shops, does not run tobacco advertising, and does not encourage anyone to start smoking or to smoke more.

2. No selling, trading or passing tobacco between people

This is the rule with no second chance, and it is deliberately broad.

• No sales, trades, gifts, group buys, “looking for”, “have spares”, or auctions.
• No prices offered to other people, no shipping arrangements, no payment details.
• No links to shops, marketplaces, resellers or your own storefront.
• No arranging any of the above elsewhere and pointing to it from a review, a comment or your profile.

The product gives you nowhere to do it: there is no field anywhere for a price shown to another person, and the app does not keep what anything cost you in the first place. An account used for trading is deleted along with everything on it.

3. Nothing abusive

• No harassment, threats, or campaigns against a person.
• No hate speech about nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, orientation, disability or age.
• No sexual content, and no content involving minors in any way.
• No illegal content, and nothing about drugs other than legal tobacco.
• No impersonating another person or brand, and no fake profiles.

Your profile has to be you: a real first and last name, and a photograph of you rather than a stock image or somebody else’s face. People here are read by name and found by name, and some of them will meet you in person — anonymity does not protect anyone in a place like this, it only makes it worse.

4. Other people’s content

Publishing a tasting means agreeing to be read inside this app by people who have an account. It is not a licence for anyone to carry it further. Do not republish someone else’s photos, notes, scores or shelf outside Ligero — not as a screenshot in a public channel, not as a repost, and certainly not as your own work. Quoting a review in a comment or a reply is what the app is for; taking it out of the app is not.

The same holds for what a profile shows: a person’s shelf, their region and their history are public here because they chose to keep an account here, and that choice does not extend to anywhere else.

5. Who answers for what

There are no founders, no moderators and no owners of any part of this platform. Nobody polices a corner of it on our behalf, and nobody has to be trusted to. Responsibility splits in two, and both halves are named:

• You answer for what you publish. Your profile, your photo, your shelf, every review and every comment — they carry your name and these rules apply to all of them.
• We answer for the platform. Reports come to us and only to us, we read them, and we act. There is nobody in between with an interest in looking the other way.

Following someone is not an endorsement and makes you responsible for nothing they write. Nobody is ever judged here by who they follow.

6. Reports and what follows

Every profile, every published tasting and every comment can be reported from inside the app, and every person can be blocked. Reports go to the platform — we are the only thing standing between the feed and whoever would like to spoil it, and we do not pass that job to volunteers.

We read reports and act within 24 hours. Depending on what we find:

• the content is removed;
• the account is suspended;
• the account and everything on it is deleted permanently, and the person is not welcome back.

Trading tobacco, sexual content, anything involving minors, and threats go straight to the last step. We do not run a warning system for those.

7. Blocking

You can block anyone. A block is mutual and total: the two of you disappear from each other’s feeds, profiles, cigar pages and search results, including anything either of you publishes later. You never have to give a reason, and the other person is not notified.

8. Reaching us

If something needs attention faster than an in-app report, or you cannot get into the app at all, write to efsh49@gmail.com. Include a link or a screenshot and the name of the person it concerns.

9. Changes to these rules

If the rules change, the new version is published at this address with a new date. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept it. Changes that make the rules stricter apply immediately; everything else applies from the date shown.

10. Terms of use

These house rules sit on top of Apple’s standard licence agreement, which governs your use of the app itself: Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where a rule here is stricter, the stricter one applies.
